NOLA Crawfish Festival 2024 celebrated 7 years of music, food, and fun between the Jazzfest weekends. It was an awesome time getting to see George Porter and the Runnin' Pardners with their special guests Luther Dickinson of North Mississippi Allstars and River Eckert, the mind-blowingly talented 14 year old NOLA pianist and singer.
This band plays New Orleans funk with the signature bass grooves George defined during his days playing with the Meters and the Funky Meters. Watching these musicians being blown away by each other is one of the best things ever - and this show delivered on that greatly. Check out Luther's expressions watching Chris Adkins and George watching River. That kind of love and respect happening on stage between people working together on their craft, entertaining the public and sharing that love with us all is such a gift we should never take for granted. I am so honored to have gotten to witness and photograph so much of that magic lately. Like everything else that I was able to experience in New Orleans, I wished there was more time to spend there so I am already planning on taking a lot more time at this festival next year.
Thank you to the NOLA Crawfish Festival team and producer, Chris "Shaggy" Davis, George Porter Jr, Michael Lemmler, Chris Adkins, Terrence Houston, Luther Dickinson, and River Eckert!
